Our Quality Guarantee
At Local Roots, we curate our boxes with the highest quality local treats. However, we understand that sometimes things go wrong during the journey from us to you.
Perishable Goods (Food Items) Due to the perishable nature of our products and for health and safety reasons, we do not accept returns or exchanges on food items. By South African law (Section 42 of the ECTA), the standard 7-day cooling-off period does not apply to foodstuffs.
Damaged or Defective Boxes If your box arrives damaged, or if a specific item inside is broken or spoiled, we will make it right.

How to Report: Please email us at
support@localroots.co.zawithin 48 hours of delivery. -
What to Include: Your order number and a photo of the damaged item.

Resolution: We will happily send a replacement item (if available) or issue a refund/store credit for the value of the damaged good.
Subscription Cancellations You can cancel your subscription at any time.

To avoid being charged for the next month’s box, please cancel before the 1st of the month.

If you cancel after payment has already gone through (e.g., on the 2nd), you will still receive (and be charged for) that month’s box, and your cancellation will apply to the following month.
